Hi Andy How the hell are ya! I see from your pics, you've not changed much and still got bikes after all these years as well! Stuart Admin reply: Hi Stewart, great to hear from you. Yep, still the same silly sod after all these years!

Glad to hear you've been busy walking. I have been out of the country - I have property abroad which is isolated (Northern Spain - farmhouse in mountains), old and needs lots of attention, but it is out of this world. Hope to relocate permanently soon, so my news is only mundane I'm afraid (renovation work). Happy Walking.

No walks since 4 April and Spring has been particularly beautiful in Sussex Admin reply: Hi Lauren. We were out on the 11th (in Hampshire) and at the weekend we walked around Pett and Fairlight (I haven't had time to write it up yet). We've also had an evening picnic in a gorgeous bluebell wood and visited Pulborough Brooks twice. We're certainly making the most of our fair county in the good weather. How about you, been anywhere good?

You have so much to offer, you really should spend some spare time doing some voluntary work on our nature reserves!

So what exactly are you doing for a profession now? Admin reply: With all of the upset of the credit crunch and the mass unemployment that is starting to follow, I've managed to get a safe job collecting the recycling from the rural areas of the Horsham district. Basically I'm a dustman! It's hard work and I've lost loads of weight and put on lots of muscle. I get to see the sun rise every day and I'm out in the country in all weathers, birding and nature watching as I go. My work takes me all around the South Downs and into all of the farms and small villages in a large section of West Sussex. It's right up my street in fact!

Visit your website once every 2 to 3 months - hope you don't think you're being stalked! Interested in the goals and aspirations we set ourselves (I don't seem to achieve many of mine) and of course the environment and our lovely Sussex (have three dogs so do lots of walking and pooper scooping). Have a nice Christmas and New Year. Admin reply: And a very happy Christmas to you and to yours too Lauren.

You got the bike on the road, didn't pass the doctorate, did you get a job (doing what?) and did you manage to/or are you doing any hands on voluntary conservation work? (doing what) Admin reply: Blimey Lauren, I feel like I’m being interrogated. Will you want my bank account details and pin code too! LOL I assume you’re referring to the wish list that we made at the start of this year. Well, I’m still working on my thesis and have until next August to finish it, so passing that will have to be a wish for next year. Yes I have a ‘real’ manual job now and I am working hard to pay off all of the debts I accrued during my studies, but it’s not in science. Quite frankly, in this terrible time of economic gloom, I’m glad just to have a job. I’m not doing any conservation work yet, mainly because I get home everyday dog-tired and also because we like to keep our weekends free for walking. There are many, many people doing voluntary work in Sussex and I applaud and salute them, but for the moment my small attempt to interest people in the UK’s wildlife and wild places via this website will have to do. As for our other wishes, Gill is very settled into her new job, yes we got to see some Sussex Ospreys, but no we haven’t had the money to take any holidays, so returns to Scotland and the Isle of Man will have to wait. Have you been keeping an eye on us all year Lauren?
