Some of your messages

I have just been looking at your website after my dad told me he spoke to
you when he was out running tonight. I think it is very good that you
have chosen riding for the disabled as your charity. I have been to the
local RDA at Bannockburn nr Stirling.  I loved the pictures you have of Poppy
and Pru.
Good luck going north and hope you have a good day at Crief 2moro
Kate age 11.

Hi Simon
You won't of course know me ! But I am certainly quite well acquainted with you and your activities ! That is following a lengthy phone call from Scotland I received from my Sister Irene Little a few moments ago. Irene says she met and talked with you somewhere in the " backblocks" of Beattock or thereabout on her travels to her Friends place to  look after some animals.
Anyway she excitedly rang to tell me to check your website in a few days as her photo may be there. All happy and excited so my thanks for making  Irene's day.
Y' know the World has suddenly become a big Village don't you agree?
Good luck with your Travels and especially the fundraising.
Kind regards
John

Hi Simon
I was sent your link by my father - as my Aunt is on your web site - Irene Little. It was great to see her [last seen in person in NZ 1992]. so thanks for that reunion!
I wish you all the best in your amazing and beautiful journey. I wonder what you will do when it's completed?
Best Regards,
Sally Papps

Dear Simon,
My husband and I saw you on the road the other day - and blow me down if you
didn't visit him at the filling station he works at! He phoned me and said
we must look at your website - and we have - and enjoyed our visit very
much!
My husband asks if you managed to get up Shap unaided?
We'll follow your travels!
Big angels!
Liz and Dave Hilton

Hi Simon,
Just wanted to tell u that I had a look at your webpage. We met you on Sunday the 17th. You stayed close to the river there and told us about it. It is really interesting to read about you.
I wish you lots of luck for the future. Say hello to your ferret. It was really cute. Love from Germany

Hi Simon
Passed you on Fri. 25/7/03 twice on the A49. it was raining like mad and you were taking shelter. I remembered your web address from the back of your cart. I am an HGV driver and wish you good luck and god speed on your travels.
Regards Ricky from Liverpool

Hi Simon
I have at long last managed to find your site, it is just great. I think it is great that you are trying to cover the country with horse and cart.
I am housebound at present due to illness, so seeing your pictures is a lovely bit of the outside.  I was born in Scotland but now live in Bristol, but my mother is from Cornwall and my late father from Newcastle. Britain is so beautiful. I only wish more would appreciate it.
Lots of love goes to Poppy and Pru.  Take care of yourself.
Sue

Simon,
I have just seen a TV news report about your travels. What a great idea and a wonderful way to travel! I live midway between Bristol and Gloucester in a town called Wotton under Edge and have a site suitable for you, your cart and horse to drop off at on your way through to John O'Groats. (Large field, toilets and drinking water). Let me know if this is any use to you, there would, of course, be no charge and I could arrange suitable publicity etc.
With best wishes for your journey.
Ken Tucker.

Hi my name is Sophie i am really interested in horses and think what your doing is really good for your two charities, Im 11 years old and am doing my sats. I go riding every week and I am also in the Pony club which is really fun. I hope every thing is going really well and your not getting too cold at night! We finish our  sats on friday (yes) we have got mental arithmetic and our reading test tomorrow and I am also going swimming with the school. I am really looking forward to next week because there is nothing to worry about. We have just done a performance of the Wizard of Of and I was picked to be Dorothy which was really cool the only thing that went wrong is that I forgot the words and my teacher had to help me out! Good luck again.
Love from Sophie

Dear Simon,
My Mum (Jenny), my Sister (Emma) and I (Marianne) have been following you more or less since you left Crawley.  I live in Glastonbury - sorry to have missed you, Mum lives in Ashcott and Emma lives in Chilton Polden.  As we didn't get our acts together when you were travelling down to Cornwall we will try and catch you somewhere when you work your way back up towards Scotland, in the not-too-distant future!
If you should be coming back this way, Mum and Dad's own place has a paddock, so that would be easy for you stay over!
Good to see you are in Cornwall and that the weather is now treating you a bit better!
Hope Pru and Poppy are okay.
Marianne Smith, Emma Linham and Jenny Frampton

Since telling my wife Sandra that you had set off on your travels and that you had set up a web site for your explorations, she looked you up today. What an interesting diary of events you have shared with everyone. All the family
will be logging on to see how you are getting on.
keep it up mate

Hi Simon,
We saw the report of your journey on Spotlight. I live in the south west of England
I just wanted to wish you well, what a wonderful thing to do.
I have been to Lands End many years ago also John O' Groats
The world today is so full of people chasing around, they have no time to stand and stare. To watch nature changing every day. The trees at this time of year are especially beautiful. In the morning I get up fairly early to watch different birds that come in to my garden.
I have always loved  visiting Scotland, the West coast is  so beautiful.
In the 80's my husband and I, with twin daughters, we would pack the car it would take us about 10 hours driving through the night. Up the M5 and M6.
But you will be taking the quieter roads. We thought the best time to visit was late May beginning of June there is only a couple of hours darkness in the far north
The wild life along the way is so interesting badgers deer and heron by the waters edge.
My daughter is disabled and use to ride with "Horses for the Disabled" So I also think it is a worthwhile Charity
As I said before, I wish you well and hopefully I will be able to follow your progress
With my very best regards
Mu Wiscombe

Dear Simon
I have just seen an article on the South West News about your trip and have now visited your Website.  I felt I had to contact you to say that I wish you every success.  What a fantastic adventure!  I will follow your journey with envy!   I have a friend who works with Riding for the Disabled and takes people out onto Dartmoor with a pony and carriage.  Tarquin is a 13.2hh Black Welsh Cob and is used regularly for driving and also is a wonderful gentle character who gives rides to the disabled as well.   I love to ride myself and knowing what a wonderful experience it is will gladly donate to this charity in support of your "incredible journey".
Give Poppy and Pru and pat from me and I wish you all the best!

  Best wishes
  Jill Eagleton

I just heard about your journey on the news and man am I impressed!!! What
you are doing was my dream once and seeing you out there makes me think that
maybe one day I will have the courage to just do it!!!!!!
Have a good trip and tell your horse she is doing a great job.
Take care, XXX Rébecca. (Cornwall)

We saw you this morning on the Wadebridge road, I was driving a white minibus
from Plymouth College of Further Education. I was carrying a group of young
people with severe learning difficulties home from our Residential visit to
Perranporth. Quite envied your mode of transport although I hope you manage to
get off the busy routes sometimes for the sake of your own health/sanity and
that of Poppy and Pru.
Very good luck to you all in your journey and please keep us informed of your
progress if you have time otherwise we will check the website when we can.
All the best        Di Jones xxxx

Hi Simon
My name is Timothy i am 14 years of age. I was on holiday with my mum and dad last week in Cornwall. We saw you on the grass verge just north of Penzence on Tuesday the 10th of June. We sent you this email just to wish you look on your journey.

Dear Simon
Saw the item about your journey on Spotlight Southwest and wanted to wish
you (and the animals) well.  I will send a donation to Riding for the
Disabled, as our grandson, who recently died aged twenty-two, thoroughly
enjoyed riding when he was well enough.
All the best

Hi Simon
What a superb website and what an amazing thing you're doing.  I didn't know
about your journey until Mum and I saw you in Crediton on Saturday morning,
and stood admiring Poppy as she made her way along the busy A377 to Exeter.  It
was a delight to see the traffic slow down for a change.  You jumped off the
cart with Pru to help Poppy make her way uphill.
On our return home we passed you again and, leaning out of the window of the
car, I asked if you needed to stop for a drink.  You replied that you were
stopping for the night at a farm, presumably Smallbrook Farm which is at the top
of our lane.  I was surprised to hear an accent from the south east.  I've
just moved here from Kent.
I have just accessed your website, curious about what I perceived to be your
nomadic way of life, and was delighted to read about your journey and charity
fund raising.  You obviously make a rather convincing Romany!
I'm sorry that we weren't able to offer you any help along the way, but
wanted to offer our support for what you're doing.  If you ever pass by again, let
us know and you'll be welcome to food, water, a bath and/or somewhere to stay.
We even have suitable accommodation for Poppy and Pru.
Wishing you the very best of luck for the remainder of your journey.

Hey Simon, I saw you and your cart on my way to Yate and then in Wickwar on my way back home the other day, the second time I saw you I made sure to get your www. address and look it up. I think what you are doing is really commendable, me and my sister used to dream about the sort of life you are living but we grew up and forgot about it, it think its really good what you are doing and it gives me hope that one day i may do it as well. happy travels, karen.

Hi Simon, we saw you three weeks ago whilst we were on holiday in Cornwall. You were on the road between Lands End and Penzance. We followed your progress on the local news. Now we are back home so we are going to follow you on the web. How far have you got?
We are Craftworkers and live in Bamber Bridge Lancashire.
Will you get anywhere near us on your travels?

                       Cheers Ursula  and Philip Taylor

Hi Simon,
Just a short note to say my mate and I saw you as we were on our way to Chipping Sodbury today.
We are a couple of jazz musicians going to a country house for a gig. Travelling in a ricketty white van. Hoping to get paid in cash this time.
Any way, we passed you on the road and the sight of the van, horse, man and dog really lifted our day.
So this is a kind of thank you. Good luck on your trip.
all the best
Jeff

My parents Brian and Gwyneth send you their regards. You stopped at their place on your way through Mid Wales ( Wednesday ) and they gave Poppy a bucket of water. They asked me to look your site up on the web ,they are so interested in what you are doing. What a great journey you are making. All the best to you all, have a safe journey and I hope that you raise lots of money for your charities. We have a disabled son and know how much horse riding meant to him when he was younger.
