Poppy is an Irish Cob. She has been loaned to Simon for this event by "Crawley on the Web", an incredibly helpful internet guide to everything going on in and around Crawley.

Poppy is an extremely strong, experienced horse. She is more than capable of safely finishing the journey. Every possible measure is being taken to make sure she is comfortable; she is fitted with special over-shoes to take away the impact of the road, she has a special horse blanket with a hood to protect her from the insects in Scotland, I am taking huge amounts of insect repellent and a massive horse first-aid kit too, plus she will be examined by vets regularly along the route.
