Wildlife walks throughout the year

31st December 2005
A train trip to Pulborough Brooks, a walk along the river looking for
kingfishers (none found) and then into the RSPB reserve to check out the north
brooks from Nettley's hide. Pulborough is one of the special places in Sussex
for wildlife watching. Today we got rained on but it didn't dampen our spirits.
Lots of birds are over wintering there including, lapwings, wigeon, teal, snipe,
greylag geese, canada geese and pintail. We also saw a sparrowhawk as well as
the obligatory kestrels.

A view from Nettley's hide. There's still
ice in the brook on the left.

A nice shot of the river just as the sun
was going down. No kingfishers today though.
