Nature walks throughout the year

Saturday 30th December 2006
Leechpool
A quick walk around Leechpool in Horsham turned up a fantastic specimen of
Stinkhorn. We found a patch of about 10 of them at different stages of
development. We managed to walk a couple of miles before the rain became a
deluge, so we headed back to the bike and shot off home again.

Here is an immature Stinkhorn. From this 'egg' (volva) the
stinkhorn erupts.

The stinkhorn (Phallus impudicus).

Wood Cauliflower (Sparassis crispa)
