East Meon Natural Burial Site (Hampshire)
Today we took a trip to the woodland burial site at East Meon, Hampshire where
Gill's mum was buried. We couldn't go on the bike because of the puncture from
yesterday so we went up in Gill's brothers car. It was a hot sunny day so we
really missed the bike.
The burial site is rapidly returning to the woodland that
it was before the site was created.
The grave needed very little tending to. It is already
covered in many species of plant, including a Travellers Joy clematis and a
small holly tree.
Buff-Tailed Bumble Bee (Bombus terrestris)
We managed to spot 3 more Hummingbird Hawkmoths today.
They seem to be having a good year!
A good close up of a Red Admiral feeding on a buddleia.
