Nature walks throughout the year
Sunday 26th November 2006
Waltham Brooks
After a completely washed out Saturday, we figured that we had to get out of the
house and brave the elements. We found ourselves at Waltham Brooks in bright
sunshine with birds flying everywhere. Lots of ducks, geese and starlings doing
some amazing formation flying, plus kestrels and buzzards soaring and hovering.
We kept hearing a Cetti's Warbler, but it expertly kept itself out of view.
The weather stayed dry with spectacular skyscapes, so we remained there until
sunset to see if we could spot the resident Barn Owl. We didn't get to see it
but the blood red sunset was well worth staying for.
