Nature walks throughout the year

Friday 16th June 2006
Old Lodge Nature Reserve
We finished a stressful day at work and shot up to Ashdown Forest to have a
picnic and see what we could see. Nightjars are breeding up there at this time
of year and we keep trying to spot them.
It was a beautiful evening and we were virtually alone up there. That is apart
from a dartford warbler, a willow warbler, 3 woodcocks, a wren, 2 stonechats, 7
deer, 1 swift, a green woodpecker, a cuckoo and several elusive nightjars.

Sitting up there
watching the sun go down and listening to all of the birds and animals was a
great way to unwind after a stressful week at work.
