Wildlife walks throughout the year

Pulborough Brooks
We couldn't be bothered to go too far today, so we poodled off to our favourite
haunt - Pulborough Brooks. We had a good days birding and we also met up with
Wayne & Penny who had stopped in on their way back from Pagham Harbour.
Highlights of the day were a big flock of Linnets with some Redpolls flying with
them, a Treecreeper (for some reason we don't see many at PB) and some Willow
Warblers. The place seemed to be alive with woodpeckers today and the whole
reserve was noisy with birdsong. If you want a full-scale dawn chorus, then get
down there for sun-up.
The Hawthorn trees are also now in full flower and are filling the air with
the smell of honey and there are swallows feeding over the brooks. Winter is
just a distant memory!
