Winchester Old Hill Fort - Hampshire
OK, it's not quite in
Sussex, it's just next door in the next county to the left but it is still the
South Downs and a truly gorgeous section of them that we don't see enough of,
what with us being devout Sussexians ...Sussexites...Sussexanians...whatever!
This visit was blessed with hot sunny weather that brought out the butterflies
and bees and turned it into an idyllic small stroll around this ancient and
beautiful old hill fort. What a place this is and what canny people those bronze
age people were for finding such great places to live. Perhaps Gill and I should
formally invade and claim it all back for Sussex. All we need is a small,
disorderly army... any volunteers?
