I'm in trouble again! I went to Pulborough Brooks by myself and once again I saw
a stoat. Every time I go there without Gill I see stoats and she has still never
seen one. She warned me before I left, "DON'T SEE ANY STOATS!"
I was at the place with the pipes where I had seen them
before and I wanted to see how
much better the photos I took then would have been with the new camera I have
now. I started taking some close up pictures of the pipes, and when I looked up
there was a stoat. It was leaping and rolling all over the place and seemed to
be really enjoying itself.
Take a look at the video.
The place seemed a lot busier than the last time I was here with hundreds of
Canada Geese and Greylag geese on the brooks with several Ruff and Snipe about
too. There were dragonflies everywhere and I saw a couple of Hobbies hunting
them, as well as a family of green woodpeckers hunting ants in a field. There are
a lot of Spotted Flycatchers on the reserve at the moment and you can see them
darting out to catch insects before returning to their favourite perch.
