Wildlife walks throughout the year

5th & 6th April 2006
Sampling in the Swindon area
I have been asked by the Plymouth Marine laboratory to help them with their
study of the River Ray in Swindon. So I went up to meet them in Wiltshire and
together we sampled from five different sites around the town.
The countryside around Swindon is very beautiful and the Ray is only a very
small river. The day went really and the weather was gorgeous.
The only mishap was when Prof Jim's Wellingtons stuck in the river bottom and he
walked out of them! He asked for help, so I took photos. What else could I do
eh!

This is the hotel where I stayed the
night. It is an old school house and very good it was too.

This site was at a very picturesque sewage
works. There were deer and birds everywhere along with lots of cherry trees all
in blossom. It didn't even smell.

This was not funny! So don't laugh. We
didn't.
